Looks like we have some people that know about computers, so...

My computer has been running slower since i installed the Mcafee stuff i was given to protect my comp. I want to make it faster again, and do this by the quickest / cheapest way possible. I will post my curren cpu components when i get on my comp (phone post)

I would suggest system restore, or if you can, do a complete reformat of your Hard Drive. (I do this every month or so)

...McAfee sucks testicles. and slows down your computer.

Use Eset Nod32. Its made to not slow down your computer..

Get rid of McAfee lmao. Worst program ever made. There are several free programs that are better. Norton and McAfee are cpu hogs and will slow down any machine.

No matter what you add to your computer it will still be slower than it should be.

It is a mystery to me how people get viruses. I do not use a firewall or a anti virus program and haven't in 3 years and have not had one virus.

I download torrents everyday and leave my systems completely open for attack and nothing has happened.....

lawl i did the exact same kc, same program for torrents too... and i had 3000+ viruses, they dont have to crash your comp to be there.

I do the same, and just get a couple viruses every 6 months.

what i would do if you still have your windows disk is to re install windows and install drivers etc and it will be fast like before, but you don't need to install mcafee as most routers out there have built in firewall. check your router and search its model number and see if it does. if you need help, just reply or e-mail me and ill be happy to help.

Don't forget to back up your files if re-installing windows.

Only time I've ever had a virus is when someone downloaded Limewire cause they thought it was "so great". Other than that I don't see how people get thousands :X
